User Profile

The User Profile page allows you to change your password, your username, and your email address.

Changing your password

You can change your password. You can also email for a new password if your old one has become lost.

To change your password:

  1. Select the Account option in the left-hand navigation bar, then click on the User Profile menu button at the top.

  2. Enter your existing password.

  3. Enter your new password in the New Password field.

It must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one alpha and one numeric character. It should not include your username (or elements of it), and you should not have used it in the last 365 days in this system.

  4. Re-enter your new password in the Confirm field. Click Save Changes to store it.

Changing the email for the forgotten password

If you need to change the email to which your forgotten password is sent:

  1. Select the Account option in the left-hand navigation bar, then click on the User Profile menu button at the top.

  2. Enter your email address within the Email Address (for forgotten password) field and click Save Changes.

For more information about forgotten passwords, see Forgotten password.

Formatting passwords

Users' passwords are eight characters or more with two or more non-alpha characters (numerals or symbols) in the first eight characters. They must not be the same as a password used within the last 365 days, and should not be based on the username. (The system compares the new password with the old password and username and looks for duplication of strings in the two. If it finds 'ABCD' in one and 'aBcd' in the other, for example, it will reject the password and ask for another.)

Changing passwords

Users can change their password at any time using the User Profile page available in the left menu, once they have logged into the Merchant Admin Interface (MAI). This enables users to change their password to something they find easy to remember.

When a user logs on for the first time, they will be prompted to change the password they were given (by whoever created their user profile) before getting access to the system: this to ensure the password is known only to that user. And, each user is prompted to change their password when their current password is due to expire (for more information, see Setting the user policy).
