The Virtual Terminal allows you to accept payments from customers by phone (also known as Mail Order Telephone Order, or MOTO). These payments are then processed through WorldPay using the Internet. A phone number on your website can provide your customers with another way to pay, and may help you to make a sale to customers who are wary of paying directly through the internet, for example.
You should always use the Virtual Terminal for MOTO transactions, rather than use your own website's payment pages to enter cardholder details as if you were the customer.
You may keep records of card details but you should ensure that these records are kept in a secure environment. For instance, paper records should be kept in a secure filing cabinet or safe. You should only keep computer-based records if your system is very secure.
You are not allowed to keep a record of a card's security code. |
