Recovery Logic

Recovery Logic allows your shoppers to fund their PayPal account before they abandon the transaction. For example, a shopper tries to buy something with PayPal but there isn't enough money in the funding source linked to their PayPal account. It gives shoppers the chance to use something else, such as a credit card, to provide the money they need to use PayPal to buy the item or service.

Recovery Logic is triggered when PayPal return the error code 10486. When you receive this code, you can redirect the shopper back to the PayPal page to select an alternate payment source or to add a new source of funds.

The shopper has three attempts to make a payment before it fails. Possible reasons for payment failure during Recovery Logic include:

If your shopper abandons the payment, such as closes the browser, whilst on the Recovery Logic path, the transaction exists in a floating state for one hour. After one hour, assuming the shopper has made no further payment action, Worldpay automatically cancels the transaction.
