Refunds

You can make full or partial refunds on PayPal payments up to 180 days (a default value) after the original payment capture date. This is PayPal's default period for refunds. If you want to make a refund after 180 days, we can ask PayPal to process the refund. If your business needs a longer refund period, ask your Worldpay relationship manager (RM) or customer support for details. PayPal will review the business case and make the decision on whether they will extend the refund period.

Use our Merchant Interface to begin a PayPal refund in the same way you make refunds for other types of payment - see Merchant Admin Interface Guide.  Alternatively, use the XML order modification.

The refunds are debited from your settlement by PayPal.

For refunds done with PayPal we also book back the commission and this is booked on miscellaneous since Worldpay does not charge commission. See Miscellaneous.
