Maximum amount for a single transaction
The maximum amount for a single transaction depends on what payment option the shopper chooses. The default limits are:

300,000 JPY at a convenience store

100,000 JPY at an ATM with cash

1,000,000 JPY at an ATM with a cash card, or with internet banking
In addition the Internet banks may set their own limits.
Minimum amount for a single transaction
The minimum amount for a single transaction is 100 JPY.
Convenience store payment - Limit exceeded
If you, the merchant, ask for a payment more than JPY 300k then the convenience store payment option does not appear to the shopper. Instead, the shopper sees a message preceded by an exclamation mark that payments in excess of JPY 300k cannot be made at a convenience store. The other payment options - ATM with a cash card or internet banking are still available on the screen.
