About Moneta

Moneta is an eWallet that shoppers can use to make online payments. The shopper must sign up for a Moneta wallet before s/he uses this service.

To make a payment using this method:

  1. On the payment page, the shopper selects the Moneta payment method.

The shopper is redirected to the Moneta payment pages.

  2. The shopper logs on to their Moneta account and then makes the payment.

Warning:  Worldpay are currently making changes to the Moneta service in order to enhance the shopper and merchant experience. From now (June 2013), the shopper will authenticate themselves directly to Moneta on the Moneta website, rather than to the merchant/WPG as was previously the case.

Merchants must be aware that:

  • Worldpay will temporarily no longer support Moneta in REDIRECT.
  • Worldpay continues to support Moneta in DIRECT. In order to facilitate merchants moving over to the new model and ensure backward-compatibility, merchants will still supply shopper credentials (account number and payment password) in the DIRECT XML but these credentials must be dummy credentials (i.e. merchants must hard-code the same credentials for each payment).
