Integration considerations

Duplicate payment time out

There is currently a 2-minute timeout in which any duplicate transactions for the same value on the same AstroPay Card as a previous payment are refused. This timeout starts from the moment the shopper completes an original payment. Once the timeout has expired, shoppers can use the same AstroPay Card to attempt a similar transaction for the same value. It will not be restricted due to this timeout rule.

Brazilian customs

Merchants should be aware that Brazilian Customs have a maximum value limit of 3,000 USD for imports sent using express services. Although this is not an issue due to the maximum transaction limit that is currently in place, international merchants that sell to shoppers based in Brazil should be aware of this.

Recipient

Merchants should think about making their shoppers aware that:

  • ‘Worldpay AP Ltd’ appears as the payment recipient on the AstroPay Card transaction details screen. See the AstroPay Card transaction history - individual card picture above.

To reduce shoppers abandoning payments, reassure them that the Worldpay recipient is not a problem.
