Transaction History

You can use the Transaction History list to see when a payment was originally captured, or to look at the value of previous actions, such as refunds. To view the history of a transaction, click on it in the transaction list, then click the Transaction History tab to the right of the transaction list.

This page tells you about the Transaction History list, and what the columns mean.

Status

This shows each status that the transaction has changed to, from the point that it first arrives on the system up to now. The most recent status is always at the top of the list.

You will rarely see the Created status in the Transaction History list. This is because a typical transaction only sits at the Created status for about a second.

To learn about statuses and what they mean:

  • if you are a Business Gateway Plus user (using WorldPay for your Internet Merchant Account and Payment Processing Service), click here.

Date

This shows the date and time that the transaction changed to each Status along its life cycle.

Amount

This shows the amount that relates to each status change. Do not add the values in the Amount column together because they are not part of a total.

Example:

If a refund of 50.00 was given on a transaction of 80.00, the status in one row would read Refunded, but the Amount column for that row would only show 50.00, not 80.00. This would leave 30.00 captured.

Currency

This shows the three letter currency code for the currency of the transaction at each point along its history. If the transaction is settled in a different currency to the one authorised, it will show here.
